Askew Leads Flag To Flag En Route To Indy Lights Win In Mid-Ohio

LEXINGTON, OH – Oliver Askew took over the points lead the last time out in Toronto. He won the second race of the doubleheader race weekend earlier this month. At Mid-Ohio, the site of this weekend’s doubleheader for the series, the Andretti Autosport driver picked up where he left off.

Askew, started on the pole and led all 30 laps en route to his second straight victory in his No. 27 entry and his fifth of the season. He’s now scored four consecutive podium finishes and is looking like a legit title favorite.

Ryan Norman gave Andretti a 1-2 effort when he brought his No. 48 entry home runner-up for his third top two finish in his last five starts on the season. He was fourth in both races at Toronto two weeks ago.

Norman, started fourth and caught his teammate Robert Megennis for second with 12 laps remaining. He’d get by with 11 to go and come away with his third runner-up result of the season.

Megennis, fell into the grasps of Rinus VeeKay inside of 10 to go and lost a shot at an Andretti 1-2-3 sweep towards the end. VeeKay, finished third in his No. 21 entry after starting sixth for his third podium in his last four races of the season and eighth of 2019.

Megennis, fell to fourth in his No. 27 entry for his third top five result in his last five races on the season while David Malukas rounded out the top five.

The race saw one caution when Aaron Telitz and Toby Sowery got into one another on Lap 3. Sowery, would finish with a DNF in ninth while Telitz finished eighth, nine laps down.
