LEXINGTON, OH – It was a perfect weekend for Oliver Askew at the Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course. The Andretti Autosport driver not only broke the track record in qualifying, but he won the pole for both Indy Lights Series races around the 2.258-mile road course. The Florida native also led all 60 laps run and swept the weekend in his No. 28 entry.
Askew, led flag-to-flag on Saturday and Sunday as he heads to Gateway next month on the heels of three consecutive wins and four straight podium finishes.
In terms of Sunday’s race, rookie Toby Sowery started third and earned a runner-up in his No. 2 entry. For Sowery, he now has two runner-up’s in his last three races on the year and three second place finishes overall.
Second place starter Rinus VeeKay had to settle for another third place run in his No. 21 Juncos Racing entry. He’s came home third in three of the last four races on the season and trails Askew for the points lead with five races remaining in the season.
Andretti Autosport’s Ryan Norman finished fourth in his No. 48 entry for his seventh consecutive top five finish and eighth of the year. David Malukas rounded out the top five.
The race had one stoppage for a Lap 1 incident between Robert Megennis and Dalton Kellett.
