Dale Coyne Racing Bunch Quietly Getting Job Done This Weekend In Mid-Ohio

LEXINGTON, OH – Everyone’s attention is on the championship battle in the NTT IndyCar Series this weekend, but you can’t sleep on the Dale Coyne Racing group though. After three practice sessions at the Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course, DCR looks the part as strong sleepers to run well in Sunday’s Honda Indy 200 (4 p.m. ET/NBC/INDYCAR Radio Network).

Sebastien Bourdais enters this weekend with four top 10 finishes in his last five starts on the season in his No. 18 Honda as well as a sixth place finish in this very race last year. Furthermore, he has two top five results in four tries on natural road courses in 2019 as well.

In practice, Bourdais was in the top 10 in all three sessions – 9th, 10th and 9th respectively. He improved in qualifying and will start fifth.

His rookie teammate of Santino Ferrucci has been strong as well. The American was fifth in Saturday’s practice sessions around the 2.258-mile road course to go along with having four top 12 finishes in his last five starts on the season in his No. 19 Honda. He rolls off 14th.

He’s also in the Rookie of the Year race as he enters Sunday’s event just a handful of points behind leader Felix Rosenqvist for the honors.
