INDIANAPOLIS – Last week Conor Daly got the seal of approval from US Air Force to return to his No. 25 Honda with Andretti Autosport for one more race during the 2019 NTT IndyCar Series season. The Noblesville, Ind native will pilot the car for the season finale at Laguna Seca next month.
On Monday, it was announced that Daly will drive in two more races this season too beginning with Sunday’s ABC Supply 500 at the Pocono Raceway. He will do so in the No. 59 Chevrolet with Carlin Racing in the seat that Max Chilton got out of for all ovals.
Due to that, Daly will also race a week later in Gateway as well, as he knows now that he will contest in three of the final four Indy Car races of the season. This will be his third and fourth opportunities in this seat as he also raced for them at Texas in June and Iowa last month. He finished 11th and 13th respectively in those races.
On top of that, he came home 10th in the Indy 500 for Andretti giving him the 13th most scored points on ovals this season.
By comparison, Chilton’s best finish in 10 races run in 2019 is 14th. In two tries in the same car, Daly finished better than 14th in each.
