Harvick Looks To Keep Momentum Going Saturday Night In Richmond

Kevin Harvick showed last weekend in Las Vegas that it doesn’t matter what’s thrown at him, he and his crew chief Rodney Childers can overcome it. They went with a plan for track position at the start of the race and elected to work on his car as the South Point 400 went on. It was a bold strategy as he’s one of only two drivers who started in the top 10 to finish there.

We saw the cars that went heavy on qualifying setups for qualifying struggle with their race cars in race conditions. Harvick, didn’t.

In Indy, they did the same thing and won. Last week, he finished second.

Harvick, heads to the Richmond (VA) Raceway on the heels of seven top seven finishes in his No. 4 Ford in the last eight races on the season. On the .75-mile Virginia short track, he’s also had three straight top five finishes including eight in his last 10 tries.

So, for him to be +52 in the standings right now, another solid top five would all but assure him a spot into the Round of 12 which means the ROVAL won’t be a stressful for him as it will be for other drivers.
